MISSION:
The mission of this program is to prepare students for employment as real estate sales associates and/or to provide supplemental education for those persons previously or currently employed in the Real Estate business.


DESCRIPTION:
The program includes selling, buying, renting, advertising, appraising, and financing real estate and real estate services.

None


LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER:
This program prepares students for the Real Estate Salespersons License. 


JOB TRAINING INCLUDES:
Local employers have verified that the range of wages that can be reasonably expected by students who enter this field upon completion of the program is: Based on commission.

From $25,000 annually to $40,500 annually
(Based on year-round, full-time employment)


OCP A: Real Estate Associate (Sales Agent) (63 Hours)
  • Demonstrate an understanding of an overview of the license law and requirements for licensure, the Florida Real Estate Commission, and the real estate business
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Property Rights: estates and limitations on ownership, condominiums, cooperatives, and time-sharing
  • Demonstrate an understanding of acquisition, conveyancing, and protection
  • Demonstrate an understanding of property taxes, special assessments, and other liens and encumbrances
  • Demonstrate an understanding of methods of describing property
  • Demonstrate an understanding of contracts
  • Demonstrate an understanding of real estate finance
    Demonstrate an understanding of the qualifications of buyers: FHA, VA, and conventional mortgage markets
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the closing of transactions: accounts, settlements, and closing statements
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the preparation of listing agreements, purchase and sale contracts, and estimated closing expense statements
  • Demonstrate and understanding of real estate markets, planning, and zoning
  • Demonstrate an understanding of real estate license law, the administration of the law, and securities licensing requirements for selling direct participation programs in real estate
  • Demonstrate an understanding of licensing and renewal: requirements and prerequisites, property deficiencies, and hazards
  • Demonstrate an understanding of agency relationships, obligations, and agreements
  • Demonstrate an understanding of brokerage operations: licensing of joint business relationships, offices, escrow, advertising, fair housing and other laws affecting real estate
