MISSION:
The mission of this program is to provide students with the positive life habits and business skills they need to succeed in a competitive work environment.  Students gain the confidence and technical expertise needed to create a wide array of graphic materials ranging from a single newsletter to more complex multimedia presentations.  Through repeated exposure to a variety of applications, students are better prepared to re-enter the workforce.


DESCRIPTION:
This program is designed to prepare a student for employment as an Assistant Digital Production Designer, Digital Production Designer, Media Designer, and Graphic Designer. Training includes but is not limited to practical experiences in computer-generated art and text, graphic design, graphic production, electronic design skills, preparation of electronic layouts and illustrations, electronic scanning and development of multimedia presentations.


UNIQUE REQUIREMENTS:
The State of Florida requires students to meet a basic skills requirement prior to program completion. The basic skills grade levels for this program are:

Mathematics 9.0, Language 9.0 and Reading 9.0


LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER:
A program completer may be eligible for up to 9 credit hours at Valencia Community College.


JOB TRAINING INCLUDES: Occupational Completion Points (OCP)
OCPs provide a student with early completion training options linked to employment opportunities established by the Florida Department of Education based on the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system and accepted industry titles.
