THE CENTER FOR ACADEMIC AND TECHNICAL STUDIES

The Center for Academic and Technical Studies (CATS) is an alternative education program for underachieving 9th graders who are 16 years old or older. This program is designed to help students improve their academic achievement while introducing them to technical careers. Class size is between 10-12 students, which enhances learning and promotes a positive teacher student relationship.

The Center for Academic and Technical Studies is a one semester program. Transportation is provided for students to and from their home school.  Every student receives instruction in academic courses such as English I, Intensive Reading, Algebra I and Integrated Science. In addition to their academic studies, students have the opportunity to participate in career and technical education classes.
