REFUND POLICY
Fulltime vocational certificate students qualify for a full
refund of tuition/lab fees providing the withdrawal occurs within
the first five class sessions for semester (18 weeks) scheduled
classes. If the student is half-time or the course is scheduled
for less than 18 weeks, the student will qualify for a full refund
provided the withdrawal occurs with the first 10 percent of the
total scheduled class hours. The drop period begins with the
entry date on the class schedule/receipt. Students scheduled
for continuing workforce education, customized training or personal
enrichment/fee support classes who are unable to attend must
notify the school in writing a minimum of 48 hours before the
first scheduled class to qualify for a refund.
Effective July 1, 2002 any currently enrolled student at an
area technical center who is called or enlists in, active military
service shall not incur academic or financial penalties by virtue
of performing military service on behalf of our country. Such
students shall be permitted the option of either completing the
course or courses at a later date without penalty or withdrawing
from the course or courses with a full refund
of tuition and lab fees. The initial application fee, charges
for books and supplies purchased through he school bookstore,
and the parking decal charge are not refundable. If the student
chooses to withdraw, the student's record shall reflect that
the withdrawal is due to active military service. The Title IV
Fair and Equitable Refund Policy applies to all Title IV Pell
Grant recipients. Detailed refund information can be found in
