GETTING STARTED - ACADEMIC PROGRAMS (HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT/GED)

Day Students
» Step 1: Orientation
  • Every second and fourth Thursday at 7:15 am
  • Bring the completed application form and required documentation to orientation in Building 700, Room 752
  • If you did not print the application, you will be given one in orientation
  • Parents of minors are encouraged to attend the orientation (7:15-8:30am)
  • Attendance limited to first 50 students (parents are not included in this number)
» Step 2: Assessment Center
  • Take the basic skills test (9am-12 noon)
» Step 3: Counselor or Advisor
  • Return to orientation room to discuss the results of your test and plan your schedule
» Step 4: Business Office
  • Pay your application ($15) and registration fees; you will receive an Admit to Class slip that gives you the class time, location and instructor name
» Step 5: Attend Class
  • Begins the Monday after each orientation

Evening Students
» Step 1: Information Specialist
» Step 2: Registrar
  • Provide the registrar with two forms of ID (one must be a photo ID)
  • Receive a student number
  • Receive an appointment to take the basic skills test
» Step 3: Business Office
  • Pay the application fee ($15) and any other related costs
» Step 4: Assessment Center
  • Come to Assessment Center on your appointment date and time
  • Receive testing directions & take the test
  • Receive a copy of the test results
» Step 5: Student Advisor
  • Bring all paperwork
  • Review the test scores
» Step 6: Registrar
  • Register for class
  • Receive an Admit to Class Slip
» Step 7: Business Office
  • Bring admit to class slip to receive an ID badge
  • Pay $25 parking fee and receive decal
» Step 8: Attend Class
  • Start date, time and room location are on the Admit to Class slip
