TRAVEL PROGRAM ON-LINE

Thank you for your interest in our Travel Program On-line Training. OCPS Mid Florida Tech has the travel training you need to get started in the exciting world of travel. You may register for courses August 3, 2009, courses begin August 24, 2009. Courses include: Travel Basics 15 weeks, Home Base 6 weeks, Worldspan 6 weeks, and the TAP Review.

E-learning – online at your home 24/7 at great value pricing! The courses are self-paced via the Internet and include five Sherry LIVE! web conference sessions on topics ranging from Cruises and Tours, Travel Agent Suppler Web Sites, and a Travel Industry Virtual Conference. Access to a computer and Internet, and self-disciple is required. You may take one or all of the courses depending on your business and/or employment goals. You receive a certificate of completion for each class. Your instructor, Sherry Hine, CTC, ACC, DS has over 20 years experience in the travel industry. Travel Basics-Fifteen weeks to complete: 16 modules on-line, 16 textbook chapters, online activities, all workbook pages, and web conferences. You may study approximately 6 hours a week. Online students may work more hours per week if they'd like to finish earlier. For example, if you work 14 hours a week, you would finish in 6 weeks. Cost approximately $520 including all materials.

NEW! Worldspan-Travelport On-line travel agency/airline Global Distribution System (GDS) computer system must be completed in 6 weeks. Worldspan TP Basic requires a prerequisite of Travel Basics or documented travel industry experience. Arranging for three mandatory one hour phone conference calls with the instructor, Sherry Hine, CTC is required. Cost approximately $145 including workbook.

Home Based Class – Eight On-Line Modules must be completed in 6 weeks. This class is best for those with some travel industry experience or who have completed the on-line Travel Basic course. Generally people who desire to work from home affiliate with a "host" agency to book their client's vacations. In the Home Based class we look at the various home based options. You must complete the course within 8 weeks of receiving your pin number. Cost approximately $200.

TAP Test & Review - $30 is the fee to MFT to administer the TAP test. You MUST ALSO contact www.thetravelinstitute.com at least 7 days prior to the test date to pay $90 for the TAP test and have completed the ON-LINE TAP Review or a travel course. The TAP review for non-MFT students is $50. The TAP Test is a basic competency test that measures the entry-level knowledge of travel professionals within all aspects of the travel industry. The TAP Test will be scheduled for November, 2009.

Visit http://orangecounty.augusoft.net. Click on the courses link in the left hand column and you'll be taken to our course selection page. Choose the category, Travel and Tourism, select the class you are interested in by clicking on the box on the left, and follow the directions to register and pay for the class online. Print the screen once you have paid, and keep for your records. Your books will be mailed to you as soon as we receive verification of payment. Please email us your mailing address after you have paid. If you have any problems with this process, please call at 407.251.6000 ext 2305. For students not wanting to register on-line, you may register via fax or mail. The registration forms can be e-mailed or faxed, including an Authorization to Charge Credit Card form that must be completed, signed and returned.
